No book could possibly cover the state of database technology today. That cannot be done by a database document.

However, books can assist you in improving your general terminology and concepts, such as b-tree or database engines.

So you unintentionally noticed that MongoDB uses WiredTiger while MySQL uses InnoDB. You do not become alarmed and wonder why a database requires something.

When you open documents on InnoDB or WireTiger with some book vocabulary, you might realize that you actually understand a few words or even a few paragraphs from them, which could help you make better decisions now or in the future.

Books

After reading books on "design data intensive applications" and "database internals", I personally noticed this effect. Although it is an information-heavy book, I found it to be worthwhile.
